Alpha is an opportunity to explore life and the Christian faith in a friendly, open and informal environment.

Suppose God did exist and you could ask him any question. Yes, any question. What would that be?
For some, it may be why did somebody close to me die, or why did this or that happen to me? Why is there so much pain, suffering and war in the world?

We all have religious questions – even if we do not believe in God.

We all ask questions like:
Why are we here? Is there a God out there and is there a life after this one?

Sometimes these questions surface more during certain seasons and defining moments in our lives.

Other questions may include:
If God exists, why can’t we see or touch him?
Where does evil come from?
Who was Jesus and why did He die?
Why do Christians celebrate Easter?
How can one have faith in God?
What is the Bible all about, and does prayer make a difference?

People express the idea of God in many ways and have different questions. Have you ever wished you could attend a course where you could ask any question like the questions above or any questions you may have? Would you like to ask such questions, stay anonymous, and experience that you are not be talked down to, judged, or to be lured into something.

All you want is to be honestly heard, and find a place where some of your questions may be answered.

Nedlands Uniting Church, 237 Princess Road, Nedlands, offers an Alpha course from
Sunday the 22nd of February 2026 at 5pm.

It is for free and dinner is provided. It takes place in a relaxed environment where open group discussion takes place. You will be allowed to ask any question, air your opinion and feel free to engage in a non-confrontational environment where you will be validated and respected. Group facilitators are trained to see to it that the environment is safe for anyone, irrespective of what you believe or don’t believe.

The Alpha course has been attended by 30 million people across 175 countries. Alpha Australia has surpassed 1 million participants country wide. Why not attend a session or two and give it a go?
